BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain today attended a roadshow in Wazirpur while canvassing votes for party's candidate Mahendra Nagpal.

The senior leader received a warm welcome in the area and hundreds of residents came out to listen to him as he sought their support in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Before the roadshow, Hussain joined the residents of JJ Colony in offering 'namaz'.

Attacking his rival, Hussain said the AAP cannot use communal card while contesting the elections this time which, he claimed, AAP had done during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

"Minorities have seen the Prime Minister Narendra Modi- led BJP government ruling the country for the last eight months and they know that there is no threat to their community from BJP. The fear factor cannot be used to get the votes of minorities this time," he said.

AAP, Hussain claimed, has lost its credibility amongst the people of Delhi.

"People of Delhi now know that there is a difference in what they preach and practise. The man (Kejriwal) who used to say that he will travel in a metro, after 49 days of his government, now travels in an SUV. Delhiites also remember the former chief minister who had called a Janta Darbar to redress their grievances and later climbed up to the roof and ran away from the back door," he said.

It's time to play positive politics, which Hussain said, BJP is playing. "Delhi needs a government which could work hand-in-hand with the Centre," he said.

Meanwhile at Kirari, the leader lost his shoes at a public meeting. Later, Hussain called it an act of the opposition parties. The leader went to buy a new pair of shoes at Rohini before addressing another public meeting in Vishnu Garden.
