Shakti Pumps has reported 55 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 6.79 crore in the quarter ended June 2014 compared to Rs 4.37 crore in the same period last year.
The company, a leading manufacturer of energy efficient submersible pumps and solar pumps, has registered total sales of Rs 68.78 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014, a 40 per cent growth, and net profit stands at Rs 6.79 crore, a 55 percent growth, a company statement said today.
Commenting on the results, Shakti Pumps Limited Chairman and Managing Director Dinesh Patidar said, "The current market environment has also been conducive for our growth in the quarter that ended. Going forward, we will continue to focus on exports and expand our domestic business well by rolling out new energy efficient products and tapping new market segments."

Fossil India opens store in Bangalore
* Fossil India, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Fossil Inc, known for its assortment of lifestyle and accessory items, today launched its second store in the country in Bangalore.

Soil less cultivation to be major attraction in four day fair * Soil less cultivation system would be a major attraction at the four day "Agriintex 2014", one of the prime agricultural trade fairs beginning in Coimbatore on July 18.
Bangalore-based Hydroponics Greenhouse Technologies India, will demonstrate live plants like tomato, brinjal, green chillies, cucumber, radish, coriander, lettuce, sponge gourd and many other vegetables growing without the use of soil, G Devaraj, Chairman, Agriintex, said today.
Soil less cultivation can help people grow vegetables, flowers and herbs on rooftops, backyards as well open space where there was sufficient sunlight and some clean water, he said.
The theme of Agriintex would be to "transform Indian Agriculture," he said.
About 1 lakh vistors from the southern states are expected to participate, E K Ponnusamy President of Coimbatore District Small Industries Association, the joint organisers with Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, said.
