Shallow fog engulfed parts of east and west Uttar Pradesh during last 24 hours with Muzaffarnagar and Lucknow recording the lowest minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius in the state.
According to MeT office, the temperature fell appreciably in Faizabad division, fell in Gorakhpur and Varanasi divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
The temperature was above normal in Kanpur division, it said.
MeT office, in a forecast, said weather would be mainly dry over the state and fog would occur at few places.
