The 1998 Asian Games Billiards Doubles Gold Medalist emerged victorious 151-134 97-151 150-147.

The opening match of the tournament was played between Mumbai's Dhruv Sitwala and Kolkata's Sourav Kothari, which the former won 51-152 150-00 150-14.

Former World championship semi-finalist, Arun Agrawal reigned supreme at the green baize to outplay Railways' Kamal Chawla 151-100 151-133.

Nine-time world champion, Geet Sethi scored a come-from-behind 2-1 win over his good friend, Nalin Patel of Mumbai.

In other matches of the day, Siddharth Parikh beat V Subramanian 151-71 152-141 while Alok Kumar outclassed Manan Chandra 150-143 150-17.
