Former world champion R M Shankara of Air India and unheralded Kajal Kumari of Indian Oil won the men's and women's singles titles respectively in the All India Public Sector carrom tournament here.
In the final, Shankara prevailed over his team mate Mohd. Gufran in a closely fought three-game encounter 12-25 25-15 25-2 to win the men's crown.
In the women's final, unseeded Kajal Kumari upstaged world and national champion Rashmi Kumari of ONGC 25-9 14-25 25-10 to annex the title for the first time in her career.
The tournament was organised by Air India Sports Club under the auspices of All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board.
