Delhi-based designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil's collection became the highlight of day four at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2016 as they put together an engaging, energetic and powerful show.
The designers unveiled two individual lines, for men and women, with two distinct stories.
While their women's wear, titled "The Matador's Mistress", was inspired from Spain, the menswear, called "The Mutiny of 1919", was based on the Jallianwala Bagh incident.

The gowns were teamed with Matador jackets.
The signature drapes of Shantanu and Nikhil were brought alive by the use of delicate ruffles, lace and sheer additions.
The fabrics were a rich choice of tulle, velvet, silk and satin.
Dancing diva Malaika Arora Khan turned showstopper for the duo's women's range.
She was dressed in a cut-out at the waist, long-sleeved black mermaid style gown with gold bead work that was totally mesmerising.
The men's wear was a turban trail offering a high octane, masculine, regimental design inspired by history.
The models were turbaned and dressed in silhouettes crafted in rich handlooms, woollens and leather.
The colour palette was dominated by masculine hues of ecru, black, navy, and grey with a hint of maroon.
Double-breasted Jodhpuri jackets, wide floppy pants and shaded angular draped kurtas looked stylish with churidars.
Contrast embellishments appeared on the hemline and armholes of Nehru jackets with their signature military touch.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh walked as showstopper with a turban teamed with black textured jacket, flared kurta and churidars.
