Sharif, Sukhbir pay obeisance at Golden Temple

Chief Minister of Pakistan's Punjab province Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today paid obeisance at Golden Temple here on the concluding day of the dignitary's four day visit to India.

"Both the leaders have prayed to the Almighty to give peace and prosperity to both the countries," a Punjab government release said.

Meanwhile, the President of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Avtar Singh demanded a corridor for Sikh pilgrims to frequently pay obeisance at historic Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

He also sought more visas for Sikh pilgrims, especially on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
 

The SGPC also made a proposal to construct a 'sarai' at Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore for pilgrims/ jathas who visit Pakistan every year.

Earlier, Avtar Singh honoured Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan delegation with siropas (robe of honour) and replica of Golden Temple and a book set.
