The makers of 'Sharknado 2: The Second One' have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a bonus scene.
Last year, the first 'Sharknado' film became a cult hit when it premiered on Syfy, garnering huge attention on social media, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
A sequel to the film was announced not long after the original movie aired, with Tara Reid and Ian Ziering returning as its stars.

Production company The Asylum is now capitalising on the movie's social media popularity by asking fans to help raise USD 50,000 through Indiegogo.
The bonus scene, if produced, will consist of "sharks, chainsaws, and chainsaws being used in the vicinity of sharks".
A campaign video posted to the Indiegogo site features producer David Latt promising that those who donate will learn about the contents of the scene in advance, and also receive video diaries from the set.
Additional incentives include a walk-on role in the movie for USD 5,000. A personal scream mixed in to the background is going for USD 120.
'Sharknado 2: The Second One' is set to premiere on July 31 at 9pm ET on Syfy.
