Sharp drop in temperature

The capital woke up to a wintry flavour as the temperature dropped to 11 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average which is the lowest this season, weatherman said today.

Mist and shallow fog were also observed in the early morning hours which later gave way to bright sunshine. Humidity was recorded as 78 per cent at 8.30 AM.

The skies will remain clear throughout the day with the maximum temperature expected to be around 28 degrees Celsius, a MeT official said.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.

The minimum temperature settled at 14.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal.
