Characterising China as a "sharp power" by some western countries is a new version of bias and hype to project China as threat, a Chinese official said today.
Pursuing double standards and cold war thinking by western countries for some demonstrate their "soft power" or "smart power," but when it comes to China, it was projected as "sharp power," Wang Guoqing, spokesman for the Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and advisory body told a press conference here.
The annual session of the CPPCC will begin on March 4.
"The international community, especially major countries, should boost cultural exchanges characterised by harmony within diversity and inclusiveness, forge a new form of international relations featuring win-win cooperation, and work together to build a community with a shared future for humanity," he said.
