An alleged sharpshooter of Najafgarh's Anil Ganja gang wanted in several murder cases, including of his own wife and cousin, has been arrested, police said today.

The accused Pradeep, 38, a sharpshooter of Anil Ganja gang, was evading police arrest since 2014. He was arrested by a Crime Branch team near Rithala metro station and two guns including a factory-made revolver and live cartridges were recovered from him, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch).

The accused and his associates had brutally murdered Mahipalpur resident Darshan near IGI airport in 2015 in retaliation after the killing of his cousin Mini in Agra by the victim and his associates, he said.

Pradeep was arrested previously in five cases including his first arrest for assault and rioting in Sonipat in 2006.

In 2008, he alongwith his associates murdered his cousin Padam as he suspected him of having illicit relations with his wife, said the officer.

In 2011, he and his associates kidnapped a college lecturer in Haryana's Bahadurgarh and released him only after a ransom of Rs 20 lakh was paid.

He was arrested in the case and despite being in jail he got his wife bumped off by his associates, said the officer.
