Shastri Awards for 2012 announced

The awards are being given away by Shastri Foundation, set up by a youth group in memory of Late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

A special jury set by the Foundation has recommended P K Abdurab, Minister of Education, Kerala for Shastri Seva Puraskar 2012 for his committed acts such as teacher bank and other revolutionary acts in education.

C V Annada Bose, Secretary General of UN Affiliate GNN Habitat Alliance, has been recommended for the Shastri Praatibha Puraskar for the services rendered by him to the nation in deferent capacities as well as the author of 17 books published.

 

The Foundation has also awarded K T Mohammed Rabeeh, Chairman, Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group, who is associated with several other medical groups for his service to NRIs in Middle East.

Mohammed Ali PP, Managing Director, Dubai Gold Souk will be receiving Shastri Udyog Puraskar for his achievements in gold business as well as his charity, pain and palliative services to the society.

The award, consisting of a trophy, a citation and a Ponnada (ornamental shawl), will be given at a function here in July.
