BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha today expressed grief over death of DMK president M Karunanidhi and urged the Centre to announce a national mourning for him.

Sinha said Karunanidhi was "most loved, admired and respected leader and a real role model for everybody."

The 94-year-old leader died at Chennai after prolonged illness today.

"His passing away is an heart-breaking news for all of us," the BJP MP from Patna Sahib told PTI over phone.

It would be apt to describe him as the "last mughul" of Indian politics, Sinha, who served as Union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee ministry, said.

"Its true that the show must go on but the show will not be the same without Karunanidhi," the actor-politician said.
