Shekhar Kapur, 'Elizabeth' team reunite for Shakespeare series

"Elizabeth" filmmaker Shekhar Kapur will be joining hands again with the team of his Oscar-winning film for a series on William Shakespeare.

Kapur, 69, who is busy with the casting for the series, took to Twitter to share his excitement about the project.

"Wonderful to be teaming up again with colleagues from 'Elizabeth' to shoot brilliantly written series on Shakespeare by Craig Pearce," he wrote.

For the project, the BAFTA Award-winning director will be collaborating with famous Hollywood scribe Craig Pearce, who co-wrote the script of films like "The Great Gatsby" and "Romeo+Juliet".

"Exciting collaboration with Craig Pearce, who wrote Baz Luhrman's 'Great Gatsby', 'Romeo+Juliet', 'Moulin Rouge' on a William Shakespeare series," he tweeted.
 

Famous for helming cult biopics like "Bandit Queen" "Elizabeth" and "The Golden Age", Kapur is also working on a TV series based on the life of Egyptian Queen Cleopatra.
