Shelar for relaxation of loudspeaker limit during Navratri

BJP city unit chief Ashish Shelar today said he would meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to seek permission for operation of loudspeakers till midnight on the last three days of Navratri festival next month.

According to the Supreme Court order, use of loudspeakers is banned after 10 pm. However, the state government in its authority, can permit relaxation of this limit up to midnight for 15 days in a year.

"We have taken an appointment with the chief minister to seek his permission to celebrate last three days of Navratri till 12 am to get the best out of this auspicious festival," Shelar said.
 

The BJP MLA was addressing a gathering here during a 'bhoomi-pujan' ceremony in suburban Borivali, where singer Falguni Pathak popularly known as 'dandiya queen', will perform live for 11 consecutive days during Navratri, commencing from October 1.

Shelar said BJP MLA Manisha Choudhary and MP Gopal Shetty will accompany him for the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Shetty said, "Owing to the BMC polls in 2017, we are trying to make the best of upcoming festivals. Therefore, giving a message of celebration and enjoying festivities in communal harmony".

Meanwhile, Santosh Singh of Shriya Events, which is

organising the 11-day event said, "We are honoured to have a prominent political presence at the bhoomi-puja ceremony of our Navratri Utsav, as it further confirms our desire of organising the biggest Navrarti festival of Maharashtra with Falguni Pathak.
