A local court today awarded life imprisonment to two members of the proscribed CPI(Maoist) in connection with a murder of a youth over five years ago.

Additional District and Sessions Judge (I) Rajesh Kumar also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of the two convicts -- Lalu Sahni and Brahmadeo Ram.

The court also held both the Maoists guilty under the Arms Act and awarded them seven years imprisonment, besides imposing fine of Rs 10,000 each.

The two had shot dead a person, named Sunil Kumar, in January 2012 as he was vocal against Maoists and their activities.
