Inspector General Kuldip Singh Sheoran today took over charge of Coast Guard Region (North East) from IG K R Nautiyal.
Sheoran joined Indian Coast Guard in 1984 and has served in various sea and shore appointments, official sources said here.
The Flag Officer has served in various capacities at sea, prominent among them being command of Indian Coast Guard ships C-02, Tarabai, Kamla Devi, Varad and Sankalp, the sources said.
Sheoran is a recipient of the prestigious 'President's Tatrakshak Medal' and 'Tatrakshak Medal' for meritorious service in the Indian Coast Guard.
