Shepherd killed in drunken brawl in Paonta Sahib

A nomadic shepherd was allegedly killed by a person in a drunken brawl in Paonta Sahib area of Sirmaur district, 65 kms from here, police said today.

Shepherds, who returned to their tent in the forest near Sataun Bridge, consumed liquor after having food last night, DSP Paonta N S Negi told PTI.

Two of them, Ajit Singh and Dharam Singh, took up a fight late last night, the DSP said, adding that Ajit allegedly hit Dharam with a log and stones.

Dharam died on the spot.

He hailed from remote Dodra Kwar area of Shimla district.

On receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and arrested Ajit.
