Sheru Classic Bodybuilding Meet on October 6

It is the biggest prize money ever to be handed out in any professional bodybuilding event in Asia.

The second edition of the championship will be held at the Indira Gandhi stadium and the grand event will be a part of the two-day health & fitness extravaganza including a health expo and professional events.

The event will be segregated into two parts- a Fitness Expo on October 5 at the NSIC Gorund in Okhla, with more than 70 exhibitors from the health, fitness and supplements industry participating in it.

"Some of the world's best professional bodybuilders including Phil Heath, Kai Green, Toney Freeman and professional women's figure athletes including Nicole Wilkins, Felicia Romero, Erin Stern will be participating in the two-day extravaganza. We are also hopeful of Pakistan's Masoom Butt participation," said Hemant Angrish, chief organizer of the event.

 

For the first time, a Powerlifting competition will also be conducted, with more than 30 state powerlifting champions participating in it. An impressive prize money of Rs.4.5 lakh will also be given to the respective champions in the Men and Women category.

Conducted by the Sheru Classic Production Private Limited, the event is Asia's first and the only professional bodybuilding event sanctioned by the International Federation of BodyBuilders, the IFBB. The event was first held last year in Mumbai.

The main event, Classic Professional Championship will feature four main categories: Men's Body Building, Women's Figure, Professional Men's Under 212 and Women's Bikini event.

"We are looking to develop this into an annual sports festival for India in the coming years. From next year, Wrestling will also be inducted among the events with the active involvement of Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar," said Hemant.
