Shetty panel suggestions to be implemented: Goa cabinet

Goa cabinet today approved the implementation of recommendations made by Shetty Commission in its report for the non-judicial staff of subordinate courts with retrospective effect from April 1, 2003.

"The National Justice Pay Commission set up by Central government under the chairmanship of Justice Shetty (Shetty Commission) had passed certain recommendations relating to improvement of service condition of non-judicial staff in the district and subordinate courts all over the country," the cabinet note said.

These recommendations were accepted by the Supreme Court and directions have been given to all the states to comply with the recommendations, it stated.

The SC had directed to implement the recommendations in toto with effect from April 1, 2003 on or before December 31, 2015.
 

The total financial implication involved in the proposal with retrospective effect will be Rs 2.48 crore and monthly financial implication to the tun of Rs 9.07 lakh as per the note.

The cabinet note reads that the proposal for provision of funds will be referred to the Finance department after all the items of the recommendations are implemented as per directives of the SC.
