An association of teachers today said it will field candidates from two seats in the next month's biennial elections to Maharashtra Legislative Council from teachers' constituencies.
Biennial elections to five constituencies of the Upper House - two graduates and three teachers' seats - will be held on February 3.
The association, Shikshak Bharti, would field its candidates Ashok Belsare and Rajendra Zade from Konkan and Nagpur seats, respectively, Kapil Patil, a sitting MLC from teachers' constituency, said at a press conference.

Besides Konkan and Nagpur, the other teachers' constituency going to polls is Aurangabad.
Patil said the two candidates will fight the polls by highlighting "faulty" education policies of the BJP-led Government in the State.
