Online marketplace Snapdeal has entered into an exclusive partnership with Satyug Gold to launch a range of jewellery collection, designed by Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty.

Under the partnership, Snapdeal will sell the new collection. Snapdeal claims to have over 25 million users across more than 5,000 towns and cities in country.

"Jewellery is one of the fastest growing categories within e-commerce. We have seen 30% month-on-month growth. Satyug Gold is a renowned name and we are delighted to exclusively launch the collection, designed by Shilpa Shetty to our over 25 million users on the website," Snapdeal, VP Fashion, Amit Maheshwari told PTI.

Apart from Snapdeal, the collection will be available at seven Satyug Gold stores in Mumbai, Pune, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. The company is targeting to take this number to 20 nationwide within the next quarter.

"While we are expanding our presence, the partnership with Snapdeal gives us access to a larger base and allows us to reach customers who are based in remote locations," Satyug Gold CEO Raj Kundra said.

The collection will be available in 22k gold, 18k gold with Diamonds and in silver with diamonds. With over 90 designs, the collection is priced Rs 1,999 onwards.

Maheshwari said the online jewellery sales market is about Rs 80-90 crore in size and growing.

"While jewellery is something people prefer to personally see and buy, our assurance in form of certified jewellery as well as TrustPay (customer protection programme) has helped customers to buy jewellery online. We are confident of the segment growing strongly," he added.
