Immediately after landing at Renigunta airport near here this evening on an 18-hour pilgrimage to the Tirumala shrine and Kalahasthi temple, 40km from here, Shinde, along with his wife and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Chairman K Bapiraju, proceeded to Kalahasthi to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.
Before offering prayers to Sri Vaayulingeswara there, Shinde performed the "Rahu Ketu Puja" at the shrine, temple sources said. Shinde then proceeded to Tirumala.
He later inaugurated TTD's Rs five crore pilgrim rest house complex--'Adiseshu Resthouse Complex', comprising 42 rooms.
After a night halt on the hills, he would again offer worship to Lord Venkateswara on Sunday morning, temple sources said.
