Shinde to visit Sundarbans to review coastal security

Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is scheduled to review coastal security in the Sundarbans during a two-day visit to West Bengal from February 24, official sources said today.
After arriving here, he would fly by helicopter to Sarberia in South 24-Parganas and take a BSF boat to Dhamakhali to visit a T-Junction floating BOP and creeks in the Sundarbans, state secretariat sources said.
After staying overnight at Raj Bhavan, Shinde would go to Frazergunj the next day to visit a proposed Coast Guard station there, they said.
Shinde would then take a hovercraft ride accompanied by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the coastal area followed by a meeting with her, they said.
 
Shinde is also scheduled to visit the Sagar Island before returning to Delhi via Kolkata, they added.
The chief minister said that she would leave for the Sundarbans on February 24.
