The road widening and repair work in the Shiradi Ghat section of the Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway would be completed by August 15, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has said.
Kateel, who made an on-the spot inspection of the road development work yesterday, told reporters that the concreting and asphalting work for 11.6 km of the 13.62 km stretch had already been completed.
The deadlines announced by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) had to be changed twice due to heavy rains in April and May that hampered the work, he said, adding instructions had been given to officials to meet the new deadline.
