Shiraz Singh snared the 6th Usha DGC Ladies Open Amateur Golf Championship 2015 at the Delhi Golf Club as she signed off with a gross score of 85 here today, which gave her a three-round aggregate of 244.

Shiraz, an 8-handicapper, capitalised on her display from the first two days to carve out a nine-stroke gap over Dhanalaxmi Rice and the top position.

Dhanalaxmi (10-handicap) had a round 84 today, leaving her with a total of 253.

Lalita Balasubramaniam (13-handicap) held on the third spot with a score of 261 while 9-handicapper Himadri Singh ended 4th with a total of 264.

Aashana Singh, who was second after Day One, finished 5th, three strokes behind Himadri.

Shiraz threatened to implode when she finished the outward nine with a total of nine-over 45 but managed to hold her nerve to have a steadier return nine of four-over 40 to stay ahead.

A total of 73 Indian and foreign amateur golfers are in the fray for this prestigious and popular amateur tournament.
