Goa leaders Subhash Shirodkar and Dayanand Sopte, who have resigned as members of the Goa Legislative Assembly and quit the Congress to join the BJP, met Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Wednesday evening.
The two met Parrikar at his private residence at Dona Paula.
Parrikar is recuperating after getting discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi where he had been admitted for treatment of a pancreatic ailment.
"Sopte and I met the chief minister. His health is improving," Shirodkar told PTI.
"He said we have his complete support and we should start working in our constituencies," Shirodkar added.
With the two legislators quitting, the Congress' strength in the Assembly has shrunk to 14.
