Shiv Naren Srinivasan, a regular on the Indian Golf Union's men amateur circuit, emerged as a winner with 39 stableford points in 0-5 handicap category on the final day of 7th Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival, here today.
19-year-old scratch golfer from Chennai frequently visits Bengaluru to take lessons from coach Tarun Sardesai. Giving all the credit of this win to his coach, he said, "It feels great to win a tournament at KGA and it has happened only because of my coach. My plan is to become the number one amateur of the country and my coach is helping me to do better on the IGU circuit as well."
Somprabh Kumar Singh (H'cap - 10) carded 33 points to win in 6-10 handicap category while Gurdeep Virdi (H'cap - 12) submitted a scorecard with 39 points to win in 11-15 handicap category.

Syed Rashid Ahmed (H'cap - 17) claimed victory in the 16-20 handicap category with 35 points.
The winner of 21-24 handicap category was Om Prakash (H'cap - 24) with 36 points.
Five winners in each category who have booked their berth for the World Golfers Championship to be held in Belek, Antalya, Turkey from November 28 to December 5, will be declared tomorrow after calculating the scores of the winners of four days.
While every winner in each of the five categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-24), walked away with Trophies and a silver plated salvers, the winning team of Somprabh Kumar Singh and Gurdeep Virdi who put together a joint score of 72 points, won a couples' voucher for 3 Nights and 4 Days at The Serai Resorts.
