"I will request the government to change the name to Chandrabhanu Gupta University," he said at a function here.
Gupta was former Chief Minister of the state.
About his visit to Dasna jail in Ghaziabad and meeting NRHM scam accused IAS officer Pradeep Shukla, Yadav said he was a minister and could visit any jail.
"As far as his meeting with the IAS officer is concerned, I met a lot of people in the jail and inquired about the facilities there," he said.
