Voicing confidence that Shivraj Singh Chouhan will come out unscathed in the Vyapam probe, BJP's Madhya Pradesh unit president Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan today said the chief minister is "as holy as the river Ganga" and the CBI investogation would prove this.

"The Chief Minister is as holy as the river Ganga and the CBI probe will prove it. All attempts of the Congress to defame Chouhan will ultimately lead to its further downfall in the state, and BJP will form the government in Madhya Pradesh for a record fourth consecutive term in 2018 under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan," Nand Kumar told PTI.

He (Chouhan) will remain the BJP's "jan-nayak" (mass leader) in the state, he said.

He also gave credit to the CM for initiating a probe into the Vyapam scam in 2012-13, based on information provided by the Indore range Inspector General (IG) of Police. It was Chouhan who directed that the scam be expose culprits punished, he said.

The BJP's MP unit president said that out of a total of seven lakh admissions or recruitments made through Vyapam since it was constituted, irregularities were found merely in 2,500 cases.

Criticising Congress for politicising the unfortunate deaths of those accused in Vyapam scam, the BJP leader said, "The Congress is making a mountain out of a molehill as 15 deaths took place before the special task force (STF) was constituted on July 7, 2013".

He said that besides these deaths, 16 more people have died and among them, a few died due to accidents, while some suffered heart attacks or due to other reasons.

"The Congress is lying and the CBI probe would reveal the truth," the BJP leader said.
