SHO Baldeo has been suspended from duty in connection with the incident of blocking of Yamuna Expressway on November 13 by a mob which was protesting against the death of a man and his daughter in an accident, a senior police official said.

SHO Baldeo Tejveer Singh has been suspended for misconduct, insubordination and dereliction of duty, SSP Rakesh Singh said.

"While senior officers were struggling to control the mob, Singh ran away from the spot with some subordinate constables and when SP (Rural) Ajai Pandey asked him to face the situation, Singh rebuked him," the SSP said.

"Two separate departmental enquiries are being conducted. While SP CityShailesh Pandey is probing the conduct of the SHO during brick-batting by the mob, DSP Ajai Kumar is investigating foul entry in GD after this episode," he said.

Meanwhile, SP (Rural) Ajai Pandey denied the SHO's allegations that he had slapped Singh when the brick-batting was taking place.

"The charge is baseless. In order to tarnish my image as and to save his skin he is making suchbaseless allegations. The priority for a police officer while countering heavy brick-batting would be to control the mob instead of slapping his subordinate," Pandey said.

Police had to fire teargas shells and use force to disperse the mob which indulged in brick bating protesting against the death of Harpal Baghel (30), a resident of village Khadera, and his five-year-old daughter in an accident on Yamuna Expressway.
