SHO held on bribery charge

A Station House Officer (SHO) was today arrested by sleuths of Haryana vigilance bureau for allegedly accepting illegal gratification of Rs one lakh from a person.

Sajjan Kumar, SHO of Sadar Gurgaon Police station, was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh from Rajender Kumar in lieu of getting his name out from a criminal case, police said.

The police have also arrested Sanjeev Gupta alias Babloo, a friend of Sajjan Kumar, who allegedly connived with him in the crime.

A case has been registered against the duo under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Bureau's police station, Gurgaon.
 

Further investigation of the case is in progress, police said.
