ShopClues expects 40% revenue from mobile

Online marketplace ShopClues expects 40-45 per cent of its revenues to come from the mobile segment by the end of this fiscal.

"Mobile is going to be one of the major channels from where our growth is going to come. At the close of year, 40-45 per cent of our revenues will come from mobile," ShopClues Co-founder and VP (Marketing) Radhika Aggarwal told PTI.

The company, which has been growing rapidly, aims to achieve Rs 1,000 crore revenues in 2014-15. It closed last fiscal with revenue of Rs 350 crore.

"About 25 per cent of our traffic and 30 per cent of our revenue comes from mobile and we see that number going up significantly...There is going to be immense growth for us," Aggarwal said.
 

The company is basically targetting tier 1 and 2 cities, from which it gets over 65 per cent of traffic.

"We are a market player for the middle class and aim to be the online Walmart of India," she said.

Around 40,000 merchants are selling on the website and the company plans to increase it to 1 lakh by the end of current fiscal.

Founded in July 2011 in the Silicon Valley, ShopClues has about 415 employees in India and is based out of Gurgaon.
