Shopkeeper shot at by motorcycle-borne assailants

A shopkeeper was today injured after he was shot at by two motorcycle-borne assailants while out on a morning walk, police said.

42-year-old Amar Singh, resident of Lokpriya Vihar area here, was first stopped and thrashed by the two assailants who then fired at him, they said.

The victim, who runs a government-run ration shop, was injured and rushed to a government hospital by locals.

The assailants are absconding and a search is on for them, police said.
