Shopkeeper shot dead after resisting robbery bid

The incident happened last night when 45-year-old Naresh Sharma, a resident of Kamruddin Nagar in Nangloi, was shutting his shop.

"Suddenly, two persons with gun entered his shop and asked him to open the almirah in which money was kept," a senior police official said.

When Sharma resisted, one of them shot him in the abdomen and escaped after taking away all the cash.

The shopkeeper was rushed to a hospital wher he was declared brought dead, the official said.
