Shopkeeper shot dead in Noida

A 50-year-old shopkeeper was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne assailants in Badalpur village here this evening, the police said.

The incident took place at about 5 pm when Ajipal was sitting at his grocery shop in the village. Three men on a bike shot at him and he was critically injured.

He was rushed to a hospital by his relatives where the doctors declared him brought dead, they said.

An FIR has been lodged at Badalpur Police Station. The body has been sent for post-mortem and they suspect old enmity to be a motive for the murder.

In view of tension in the village, additional police force has been deployed.
