The local chapter of Young Indians (Yi) an integral part of CII, has launched a campaign 'show the ink, see prices sink", to incentivize voting by providing discounts to voters across various brands.
With over 800 million eligible voters and 15 crore first time voters, India cannot afford any voter apathy this time and the initiative was a bid to increase voter participation through a radical approach of incentivizing voting and simultaneously, encouraging voters to research their candidates and take an informed decision on voting, Yi said.
"The voter, after the Election Day on 25 April 2014 (Coimbatore goes to polls on Apr 24) can go to any of the brands/stores that are part of the campaign and avail discounts, deals, offers by showing his/her inked finger," a Yi release said today.
