Deputy commissioners of five districts in Jharkhand have been served notices to explain their 'inability' to utilise additional central funds of Rs 30 crore for naxal-affected areas and 'failure' in submitting accounts properly.
Serving the notices to deputy commissioners of naxal-affected Giridih, Simdega, East Singhbhum, Khunti and Garhwa districts, Development Commissioner Sudhir Prasad asked them to explain as to why the additional central funds could not be utilised in its totality, an official release said here today.
He also asked to explain the audit report of fiscal 2012-13 and utilisation report of fiscal 2013-14 as works in these districts under the additional funds was found to be inadequate, it said.
The release, however, said that the utilisation report of the other naxal-affected districts was found to be proper.
