Capital Shimla, where the maximum temperature had remained steady at 27 degrees Celsius, registered a sharp fall in mercury after the shower, the MeT office here said.
However, the minimum temperature remained two degrees above normal at 17.3 degrees Celsius.
Una recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 40 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar at 38.7 deg C, Nahan 36.0 deg C, Dharamsala 34.6 deg C, Solan 33.5 deg C, Bhuntar 33.0 deg C and Kalpa 21.4 deg C.
Tourist resort Manali and Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recorded minimum temperatures at 9.2 degrees and 4.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
