Showers hit peak hour traffic in Delhi

Rainfall and thundershowers lashed the national capital during peak hours this morning, throwing traffic out of gear in most areas.

Traffic snarls were witnessed in Lajpat Nagar, Moolchand, Raj Ghat and on Vikas Marg and NH-24, among others.

Rainfall of 23.2mm was recorded till 8:30 A.M. Today, a MeT official said, adding that the minimum temperature in the wet weather had settled at 11.0 degrees Celsius in Delhi.

The maximum was at 22.6 degrees in the city, a notch below normal.

Moderate rainfall and thundershowers are expected in parts of Delhi-NCR over the coming 24 hours, the weatherman has said.
