The minimum in Delhi was also two deg C below normal at 26 degrees, down from previous day's 29.5 degrees.
However, the humidity rose to 65 per cent.
In West Bengal, fifteen more deaths were reported from West Midnapur district over the last three days while one more occurred in Bankura last night.
Till today, 48 persons have lost their lives in southern districts of the state.
People in parts of Punjab and Haryana also heaved a sigh of relief with mercury dropping by up to five notches below normal.
With rain lashing various parts of the region, maximum temperature fell below 40 degree C in both the states.

In Punjab, Amritsar, which had been the hottest place in the region for the last several days, had a maximum of 37.4 deg C today, down by 4 notches below normal, Met office said today.
Ludhiana saw mercury settling at 36.5 deg C, down by 5 degrees below normal while Patiala had a high of 37.8 deg C.
In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar recorded maximumm of 39 deg C each and both districts had a rainfall of 2.3 mm and 3.6 mm respectively.
Karnal, Rohtak and Bhiwani had a high of 37.8 deg C, 39.6 deg C and 38.6 deg C respectively.
Met in its forecast said light rain or thunder shower may occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana. MORE
