A special CBI court today fixed May 23 for hearing on taking up cognizance against the six jailed accused in connection with Sadatganj based businessman Shrawan Sahu murder case.

Special judicial magistrate Vinita Tiwari also summoned the accused from jail on May 12.

The court passed the order after the CBI filed charge- sheet in the special court in the case yesterday.

The central investigative agency filed the charge sheet in the special CBI court days before the 90-day mandatory period for filing its crucial probe report after the arrest of the accused was to be over.

On February 1, bike-borne assailants had gunned down Shravan outside his house in Sadatganj area here.

Shravan was pursuing a court case against Aqeel, a listed criminal from Thakurganj area. Aqeel had killed Shravan's son Ayush in October 2013 over a tiff at a beer bar in Thakurganj.

Shravan was pursuing the case against Aqeel and had been threatened on multiple occasions on his behest before he was also murdered.

As name of the three city policemen, who allegedly supported Aqeel clandestinely, had cropped up in the entire episode, the high court directed CBI to take over the case.

The agency took over the case in first week of April.

The charge sheet was filed against the shooters Satyam Chaudhary and Aman Singh under IPC sections 302 and 201, while Ajay Patel, Raju, Sonu and Aqeel were booked for criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.

The agency is expected to file the supplementary charge sheet against other accused in the coming weeks.
