Shree Cement Q2 net higher at Rs 129 cr

Shree Cement today reported a higher standalone profit of Rs 128.73 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

The firm has clocked a net profit of Rs 108.81 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a BSE filing.

Total standalone income of the company was also higher at Rs 1,724.25 crore in the July-September quarter this fiscal from Rs 1,608.08 crore during the same quarter in 2014-15.

Total expenses were higher at Rs 1,605.39 crore from Rs 1,490.31 crore during the period under review.

Steel Minister presents National Metallurgists Awards * Steel and Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today presented the National Metallurgists Day (NMD) awards at an event the held in Coimbatore (Tamilnadu).
 

The awards were part of the 53rd National Metallurgists' Day celebrations, an official statement said.

Total 12 NMD awards were given to professionals who have excelled in the field of metallurgy. The highest award -- Lifetime achievement award was conferred on former director and COO INDAL RN Parbat.

The award function was part of the 4-day long programme and was organised by Indian Institute of Metals in association with Department of Metallurgical Engineering, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and R&D Centre for Iron and Steel, SAIL.
