Music of an upcoming Hindi film, 'Zainab - A Celebration of Humanity', was launched here tonight in the presence of Congress leader and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal, who has penned songs for the Bollywood flick.

Sibal has written all the five songs for the film including qawwali and an item number. The film is based on a story relating to the Muzaffarnagar riots (of 2013). The film is expected to hit the theatres soon, its producers said.

Speaking to reporters during the event, the renowned lawyer said he penned songs based on the scenes and situation in the script of the movie directed and produced by Pranav Singh.

"Songs need to be written according to scene, situation. This film is about Muzaffarnagar riots. Keeping this mind, which words will depict the emotions, are brought in the lyrics," Sibal said.

On the item number he has written for the film, Sibal said that producers want such track to be there in a movie. He also claimed movies don't work without item songs.

"Producer wishes an item song should be there (in the film), which is a very difficult job. Sometimes I feel, I should not have written it. But have to write because no movie works without item song."

When queried if political thoughts played on his mind when he penned the songs, Sibal replied in the negative.

Without naming any outfit, the leader added politics of division is quite "dangerous" and that a message should reach the society through the film that all have to keep India intact and Muzaffarnagar-like riots should not repeat.

"Whichever religion we belong to, we must follow the path of humanity. Humanity associated with every religion. The country can move forward when we all consider ourselves," he said.

Sibal also narrated a few lines from one of his songs in the political movie.

On his part, film's lead actor Jimmy Shergill said he opted to do the flick due to its script and the reason that he has not portrayed such a role in his previous films.
