Siddaramaiah's son Rakesh Siddaramaiah, who died of multi- organ failure at a hospital in Belgium last week, was today laid to rest here.
Thousands of people filed past the body at Karnataka Exhibition Grounds here where it was kept for public viewing.

Siddaramaiah, who stood next to the body of his son, wasseen weeping with folded hands as leaders tried to console him after paying their respects.
The body was then moved to a farm house in T Katur for last rites where only close family members and friends were allowed.
The body earlier in the morning arrived from Brusselsat the airport here from where it was flown directly to Mysuru.
Rakesh, 39, was undergoing treatment since week ago at AntwerpUniversity Hospital in Brussels where he was rushed onlast Tuesday after he developed sudden pancreas related complications during a European tour with his friends.
He is survived by wife, a son and daughter.
Rakesh, who was considered as political successor to Siddaramaiah, had met with an accident 15 years ago when he suffered injuries to his pancreas.
Siddaramaiah's second son is a Doctor by profession.
