Siddique told reporters here the company had breached the Supreme Court directive for revival of Ashok Paper Mill at Darbhanga and the government should make public update of vigilance investigation on the company before considering its interest on investment of Rs 2000 crore in the factory.
The state government should also take into account an order passed on February 17 by the EPFO recovery officer for confiscation of the properties of the paper company on a petition filed by the mill's employees for payment of their provident fund, Siddique said.
He charged the company with breach of agreement, which it signed in August 1997 with the RJD government for revival of the paper mill and said instead of reviving the unit and providing work to those employed there the company had shut down the mill in November 2003 and later sold its properties worth Rs 35 crore.
The then Chief Minister Rabri Devi had ordered a probe by the Vigilance Bureau against the private company, he said. PTI KDK
