The deceased were local villagers, Siddique said, adding they and the injured person were identified as residents of villages near the forest and were Mahadalits.

"None of the three persons had anything to do with Naxal activities," he told newsmen here.

He demanded registration of a murder case against the accused security personnel, besides payment of ex-gratia of Rs ten lakh to the kin of each victim and Rs five lakh to the injured person.

The kin of the three villagers have lodged a complaint with State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) alleging that security forces fired on them while they were bathing their cattle in a pond, Siddique said.

Security forces had recovered the two bodies near Balther forest following an encounter with Maoists and said the deceased were ultras.
