The much-awaited Signature Bridge, a dream project of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, will be thrown open to the public by the Aam Aadmi Party government by March next year.
Delhi Toursim Minister Jitender Singh Tomar, who today visited the construction site of Signature Bridge, said that the government has decided to develop a new tourist hub below the bridge.
"The construction work of Signature Bridge will be completed by March, 2016. We are developing new facilities at the bridge like installation of LED lights and some restaurants so that people can be attracted," Tomar said here.

"We will develop water and sports facilities under the bridge. The bridge will prove one of the best Signature Bridges in the world," the minister said.
The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) is constructing bridge, which is 675 metres long.
According to the officials, it has a bow shaped steel pylon of about 154 m height, having 15 pairs of cable stays on one side and four pairs of back stays on the other side.
The bridge has a concrete-steel composite deck 35.20 m wide.
"The Signature Bridge will be an example of aesthetic elegance and would be made into a favourable tourist destination in Delhi," said Ramesh Tiwari, MD & CEO, Delhi Tourism.
The Construction of Signature Bridge and its approaches amounting to Rs 1131 crores was accorded to the Government of Delhi during the year 2010.
