The National Sikh Front today held a protest here against Congress leaders for their alleged involvement in the attacks on Sikhs following the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984.
Led by its chairman S Varinderjeet Singh, the activists held a protest in Digiana area of the city and demanded severe punishment for those Congress leaders who were involved in the attacks on Sikhs.
"The wide perception, not totally wrong, that government has played a direct or indirect role in doing everything to protect those who were responsible for it," Singh said.
"We appeal to the people of this country to come together to help us get justice," he added.
