Press Trust of India New Delhi
Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today accused the AAP government of trying to "disturb communal harmony and peace" by demolishing a water kiosk (piau) at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Chandni Chowk.

"Demolition activities carried out at Gurdwara Shri Sis Ganj Sahib was a deep rooted conspiracy by Aam Aadmi Party to disturb peace and communal harmony," DSGMC president Manjit Singh told a press conference.

The anti-encroachment drive yesterday had led to a protest by the devotees and locals after the water kiosk was removed.

The demolition drive, undertaken by Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC), was carried out with the help of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and Delhi Police.

DSGMC alleged that AAP MLA from Chandni Chowk Alka Lamba, who is also director of SRDC, was also "responsible" for the demolition.
